The English for Sciences II course is designed to equip students with the advanced language skills necessary to excel in their graduate studies and succeed in the English-speaking academic and scientific environment. Through a combination of interactive activities, and reading, writing, and speaking exercises, this course focuses on enhancing students´ language proficiency, critical thinking, and academic communication abilities.

Course Objectives

• Develop advanced reading and comprehension skills for academic texts, including research articles and journals.
• Enhance writing skills by mastering academic vocabulary, sentence structure, and paragraph coherence, leading to well-structured text production.
• Foster critical thinking and analysis through discussions, and critical response assignments
• Refine speaking skills for academic purposes, including the ability to present research findings and chair seminar discussions
• Strengthen grammar and syntax proficiency to ensure precise and accurate communication in both written and spoken contexts.
• Cultivate research skills, such as paraphrasing, summarizing and citation, to adhere to proper referencing guidelines.
