The English for Sciences I course is designed to equip students with the advanced language skills necessary to excel in their graduate studies and succeed in the English-speaking academic and scientific environment. Through a combination of interactive activities, and reading, writing, and speaking exercises, this course focuses on enhancing students´ language proficiency, critical thinking, and academic communication abilities. Material and activities are aligned with level C1 or ´Proficient User – Advanced´ of the CEFR or GeRS.
 

Course Highlights:
 

• Interactive reading and comprehension sessions for academic texts, including research articles and journals.
• Writing sessions to develop the skills necessary for constructing clear and concise academic texts, with an emphasis on organization, cohesion, and evidence-based argumentation.
• Peer review of writing to analyze and discuss texts, and develop critiquing skills
• Group seminar discussions to foster critical thinking and spontaneous interaction
• Research and presentation of findings with opportunity to chair discussion
• Regular grammar and vocabulary exercises,
