With 7.7 billion people in the world to feed (a figure expected to rise by 9.6 billion by 2050) and a planet to protect, the stakes are high for the agribusiness and food science sectors. Food security - food crises - environmental challenges - sustainable technologies - natural resource management.

Students of agriculture, agribusiness and food science are confronted with these issues and many of the sources are in English. To develop solutions for the future, you need good communication and language skills and a sound knowledge of the terminology in these areas.

We will look at the food chain from field to fork to investigate solutions being developed in agriculture and food production. The course is aligned with level C1 or ´Proficient User – Advanced´ of the CEFR or GeRS.

Key areas of focus include:

• Smart food packaging;
• Cultured meat production;
• Cellular agriculture and cultured alternatives;
• Functional foods and bioactive ingredients;

• Speaking Skills: Develop confidence and proficiency in presenting your ideas clearly and persuasively;
